Conveyor Belt Sushi Magic: Dinner at Sushiro with the Family! 🍣🏮

If you're traveling in Japan with family, there is one culinary experience that is an absolute must: conveyor belt sushi (kaitenzushi)! During our recent trip, we stopped by Sushiro (スシロー), one of Japan's most famous and popular conveyor belt sushi chains, and it was an absolute blast from start to finish.

🎟️ Getting Started: Self-Service & Seating

Right when you step into Sushiro, the high-tech, seamless experience begins:

Ticketing System: The front entrance features an automated kiosk where you can easily select your language (English is available!) and grab a queue ticket.
The Waiting Game: Overhead screens show ticket numbers and estimated wait times—plus fun interactive games and announcements to keep everyone entertained while waiting for a table.
Finding Your Booth: Once our number (No. 406) was called, we headed straight over to our cozy red booth at Table 46.

🍵 DIY Hot Tea & Table Set-Up

Before the food even arrives, setting up your spot is half the fun!

Hot Water Spigots: Each table comes equipped with built-in hot water taps.
Matcha Powder: You spoon your own green tea powder right into your cup, fill it with hot water, and stir up fresh hot tea at your convenience.
Sauces galore: On the table, you’ll find different soy sauce options (including sweet soy sauce and low-sodium options) alongside fresh pickled ginger (gari).

📱 Ordering via Tablet & The Conveyor Belt

The highlight for the kids (and let’s be honest, adults too!) is ordering from the personal touchscreen tablet mounted right at your booth.

Huge Variety: The menu is extensive! Beyond fresh classic sushi like salmon (sake), tuna (maguro), egg (tamago), and corn mayo gunkan, they serve ramen, fried side dishes, and fun desserts.
Express Delivery: Once you tap "Order," your dishes zoom right down the upper conveyor track and stop right at your table number.

🍨 Sweet Finish & Easy Checkout

No Sushiro run is complete without dessert! We wrapped up our meal with a delicious iced coffee jelly topped with whipped cream—a total hit.

When it’s time to head out, the payment process is just as smooth:

Scan your table ticket at the automated checkout kiosk.
Pay using cash or card.
Head out with happy, full bellies!
