But if you’re new to Japanese smart parking kiosks, paying for parking can feel a little confusing at first glance!

Don't worry—the process is super fast once you know what to do. Here is a step-by-step guide to paying for your parking before heading back to your car.

Step-by-Step Guide to the Pre-Payment Kiosk

Instead of paying at the exit gate barrier, Coaska uses payment kiosks inside the complex. Be sure to clear your balance at one of these kiosks before walking out to the parking garage!

Start the Transaction
Tap the screen to switch to English if needed, then hit "Start transaction" on the home screen.
Enter Your License Plate Number
Use the touch screen keypad to type in the 4-digit number from your vehicle’s license plate, then press "Confirm".
Confirm Your Vehicle
The screen will display a photo of your car taken when you drove in. Confirm it's yours by selecting "Yes".
Scan Discount / Service Vouchers
If you did some shopping or dining inside Coaska, you likely received parking validation receipts/vouchers with a QR code!
- Hold the QR code up to the scanner directly under the screen.
- The screen will apply your discount, reducing or completely waiving your fee.
Complete the Transaction
Once your balance shows ¥0 (or after paying any remaining balance), the machine will display "Transaction complete". You’re all set to head to your car and exit smoothly without waiting at the gate!
