If you’re a food lover visiting Japan, a trip to the Shinyokohama Ramen Museum (Ra-Haku) in Yokohama is an absolute must-visit destination! While the museum is famous for its retro Showa-era streetscape and iconic regional ramen shops, one of the most exciting hands-on experiences is creating your very own custom instant ramen cup!

Here is a step-by-step look at how we crafted our personalized instant ramen setup during our latest adventure.

Step 1: Design Your Custom Menu 📋

The process begins at the customization station, where you select all the key components for your custom ramen cup:

  • Cup & Noodle Selection: Choose your cup design and preferred noodle style.
  • Soup Base: Pick your favorite soup flavor—ranging from classic light soy sauce, tonkotsu, or light salt, to unique options like spicy miso, dried sardine soy sauce, or blue chicken salt!
  • Toppings: Select your mix-ins, including green onion, cabbage, corn, garlic, naruto (fish cake), char siu, jalapeno, or even natto.

Step 2: Customizing the Ingredients 🥬

Next, watch through the glass counter as the museum staff carefully packages your selected toppings, soup bases, and noodle choices into individual, freshly sealed portion bags. Every detail is assembled step-by-step right before your eyes!

Step 3: Sealing & Packaging 📦

Once all your ingredients are prepared, your custom-designed lid is applied to your bowl. The cup is then wrapped in clear shrink-wrap plastic and passed through a heat tunnel to seal it tight just like a store-bought instant ramen cup!

The final result is a completely unique, fully customized cup of instant ramen featuring our own Emmerican Adventure design on the lid—the ultimate delicious souvenir to remember our day in Shinyokohama!
