If there's one thing you need to know about Japanese baseball fans, it's that a little rain isn't going to dampen their spirits. Recently, we headed out to Yokohama Stadium to catch a Yokohama DeNA BayStars game, and the weather was... well, let's just say it was less than ideal. But the pre-game energy? Absolutely electric!
The ApproachWalking up to the stadium, the sky was a blanket of overcast gray, and the rain was coming down on the wet brick pathways. But right away, the banners lining the ramp leading up to the gates set the tone: "BE A TEAM. WIN IT ALL." It’s hard not to get hyped when you see that kind of team pride before you even scan your ticket.

Once inside, the dedication of the BayStars fans was on full display. The stands were transformed into a vibrant sea of blue rain ponchos. No one was letting the drizzle ruin their day at the ballpark! Looking out over the pristine field, you could see the grounds crew hard at work getting the diamond ready, with the bold blue "AHS" logos painted on the foul territory grass standing out brightly against the dreary weather.

One of my favorite things about Yokohama Stadium is how it sits right in the middle of the bustling city. Standing near the bright yellow foul pole, you get this incredible contrast—the vivid colors of the stadium and the field framed by the towering Yokohama skyline and the moody, rain-filled clouds above. It’s a beautifully unique backdrop for a ballgame that you just don't get everywhere.
Even with the rain, the pre-game vibes were completely unforgettable and the atmosphere was buzzing.
